More Guiyang (from Cacia's camera)

The wifi appears to be working better on Heidi's laptop than on mine at this hotel so I am using hers to post about our day.

Lots of dancing at the park today!

Water painting

Lots of monkeys!!

There was a woman feeding the monkeys! They seemed to know her and were very kind in the way they took the food from her. She had a very large bag of bread and fruit and would speak to them as she emptied it. I have a video of their interactions but I won't be able to post it until we have better wifi.

There were also caves in this park. They sold beads in them.

This guy is making sure we know the rules

We accidentally came across a path that took us to a very high (possibly highest) peak! Very tiring but very worth it. The view was gorgeous! Can you spot the "CN Tower" in the distance? :p

Heidi dance!!

Heidi was worried to go down the stairs so close to the monkeys.

So she took a side path through the trees and she ended up making a "friend"...

...who stole her water bottle :c (zoom in on this guy)

Traditional Chinese shoes! Very inexpensive and comfortable!! Mum had brought me back some last time she visited China and I love them so much, I was determined to find another pair. After two weeks of no luck in Hangzhou, we found that Guiyang sells them everywhere!

This was my outfit that I wore to the dinner tonight with the family and close friends of tomorrow's wedding. I bought the dress at the night market in Hangzhou and the shirt at a small shop outside our hotel in Guiyang!

  1. It is all so amazing even for us just seeing the pictures. We can't imagine what it must be for you to experience this all in reality. Thanks again for sharing through photographs, just keep them coming!

  2. Heidi, remember that are restrictions to bringing animals into the country

  3. monkeys have very intelligent looking faces, though I'm not sure what that means? penetrating gaze, inquisitive, determined, analytic? also their hands seem so facile, also inquisitive and deliberate in their exploration. I'm actually glad we don't have them here; it would make camping so complicated.
